New District Leader Training

We hold training for newly called district leaders.  As part of the training, the missionaries are provided with opportunities to teach each other.  I also try to spoil them with a homemade treat of sorts.  Apparently carrot cake muffins with cream cheese frosting really hit the spot!

Returning with Honor

A piece of our hearts go with these amazing missionaries who are returning home after their faithful service.  We wish them all the best as they adjust to post-mission life.  We continue to pray for their success and faithfulness to all they have learned and taught while serving as representatives of the Lord.

Welcome to the Mission!

We met them at the airport as they arrived, retrieved all of their luggage, changed their money into Honduran currency, took a few pictures, and loaded them and all their possessions on to a bus. Off they went to meet their new companions who were waiting patiently at the stake center for their arrival.

The new missionaries were all smiles as we introduced them to their new companions 

and showed them on a map where they would be serving in Honduras.  

Excitement filled the air as hugs and handshakes were exchanged.  

Now it is time to get to work!  Sending love and prayers their way as they begin 

their service to the Lord!

Mission Tour with Elder & Sister Alonso

On September 7th we began our Mission Tour with Elder and Sister Alonso.  Elder Alonso is a counselor in the Central America Area Presidency 

serving in Guatemala.  

We met them at the airport near San Pedro Sula and headed for La Ceiba. The following day four of the Zones in our mission met with the Alonso's to receive training and inspiration from these wonderful teachers.

 The following day our travels took us to La Lima where Elder and Sister Alonso greeted and met with the other four zones in our mission.  Again, this couple taught the Doctrine of Christ to the missionaries and commitments to go forth 

and serve were renewed and strengthened.

The missionaries not only enjoyed some good food, but were truly fed spiritually during their time with Elder Alonso and his wife.  We want to express our deepest thanks for the opportunity we had to be instructed and edified during this tour.  We all learned a great deal and feel incredibly blessed to be able to participate in the great work of salvation among the wonderful people here in Honduras. 

Hermanas Only Conference

On Wednesday, August 24th and 31st we held a conference for the hermanas serving here in Honduras. We enjoyed presentations from the Sister Training Leaders and President and Sister Carlisle.  Other companionships had us playing games to learn about our knowledge of the Missionary Handbook and Preach My Gospel, the Attributes of Christ, modesty, loving our companions and working together, to name a few.  We enjoyed this time to get to know each other better and of course we had to eat.  The room was filled with love, laughter and smiles all around.  When it came time to say goodbye, no one wanted to leave because of the sweet spirit we felt.  Finally, after love was expressed and hugs were freely given, the invigorated sisters were off and ready to continue their work of finding, teaching repentance and baptizing converts.  

We love our hermanas!
